I read that and was sick. I worked in human services for 20 years, which among other things included a community program for adults with mental illnesses and multiple programs for adults who had developmental disabilities and often co-morbid mental illnesses. The abuse and neglect of vulnerable people always gets to me (which is how I ended up in HS in the first place).

I’m sure that some of this is the result of people trying to do the best they can with limited resources, but that somehow doesn’t ameliorate the end result for me.
