We’re All Going to Hell

This video by the Bastard Fairies is pretty funny. Mormons get a mention. (warning: explicit lyrics)

Seriously, I’m pretty sure we’re all going to Hell. At least we’ve all been condemned to Hell by someone somewhere who doesn’t share our beliefs.

… or is too ready to condemn us for being human.

My youngest caught part of the video (I swear I’m not trying to contribute to the delinquency of a minor) and asked “Is that mommy?”

Jon showed me the video and told me Eden’s comment. In short, she looks at any picture of a grown woman and asks me if it’s mommy. When I’m looking at blogs with picture of my friends toddler girls it’s “Is that me?” or “Is that Lilah?”
So no I don’t sing the words “You’re going to Hell.” around the house or show that much cleavage.
I don’t think I have that much cleavage.

That takes the fun out of her comment. You have to admit that she bears a passing resemblance to you. And I think it would be funny if you went around the house singing the song (an edited version of course). Hey, if I can sing the lyrics “Someone’s makin’ love to Dinah“, I’m sure you can sing “Little boys that choke the chicken, you are going to hell”. :)

I heard once that Joseph Smith, upon being told the Mormons were going to hell, responded “then will kick the devil out of his place and make a heaven of it.”

Maybe that’s where the joke about the Mormons in hell building irrigation projects came from…

I think Joseph Smith had the right attitude. If almost all of us who are trying to do the right thing are going to Hell because we got things slightly wrong, then Hell must not be such a bad place. We’ll all be in good company.

Dammit if I don’t have a bad case of earworm. This song keeps greeting me in the morning when I wake up like my schizophrenica-induced best friend.

It looks like they’re going to have to revise their lyrics, ’cause apparently Catholics who use condoms are apparently not going to Hell. I wonder if the church’s ruling is retroactive.
